Garage doors and motors
Garage door operators may be installed on the following types of doors:
• Sectional doors – Hinged panels with rollers running in vertical and overhead horizontal track. Normally 4 or 5 sections per door.
• One-piece doors without tracks – One piece which normally protrudes from the opening in the open position.
• One-piece door with vertical tracks (Cor-O-Cam) – DO NOT automate doors with this type of mechanism
• One-piece doors with horizontal track – One piece with rollers running in horizontal tracks
• Roll-up door (Not roller shutter) – A specialized installation kit is needed. Corrugated metal door sliding in vertical tracks and rolling up into a cylindrical shape above the lintel.
Lightweight Fiberglass, Aluminum and steel doors must be substantially reinforced for automation.
Counterweight doors are NOT SUITABLE for automation, spring conversion kits are available.
Condition of door:
For successful automation, a door should be in good working condition, i.e. it should be possible to open and close easily with one hand, be correctly sprung and run smoothly without sticking or binding. Torsion springs should be greased. Tracks should be well secured with correct clearances and be clean and free of grime. Badly worn hinges, rollers and bushings should be repaired and replaced. Remove all unnecessary ropes, brackets, levers, etc.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
• Use caution when operating the manual release with the door open since it may fall rapidly
• Frequently examine the door and operator for wear, damage and improper balance
The obstacle sensing adjustment is extremely important and should be tested quarterly

Hydro Doors Digidoor II – Automatic Garage Door Operator
Digidoor II is a garage door automation unit designed to give low maintenance, long term and reliable service, providing convenience and security. Digidoor II is designed for Internal residential use only.
Using the Digidoor II:
•
Remote control – A single momentary push of the button on the radio transmitter will cause the garage door to open or close and stop automatically once the open or closed position is reached. The door may be stopped while moving by pushing the transmitter button again (wait one second between pushes). A further push of the transmitter button will cause the door to then travel in the opposite direction.
• Back up Safety – As a further safety measure the Digidoor II will only operate for 30 seconds in either direction, thus if either limit switch is not reached, for whatever reason, the unit will stall and attempt to re-open if it was closing or switch off if it was opening.
• Courtesy light – When the Digidoor II is operated, a light on the unit is turned on. The light switches off automatically approximately six minutes after the unit’s last operation. This light can easily be replaced by squeezing and removing the lens, inserting a normal bayonet mount lamp (40W, 220V)
• Obstacle sensing – A properly installed and adjusted Digidoor II unit will sense when an obstacle is impending the motion of the door. If the door is closing, it will stop and return to the open position. If the door is opening, it will simply stop.
• Manual operation – The digidoor II operator may be disengaged so that the garage door may be operated manually. To do this, simply pull the cord on the carriage until the latch lever snaps down. To re-engage the Digidoor II unit, simply restore the latch lever to its original position and operate the unit which will then automatically re-engage with the door.
