Vector Swing motors
The Vector operator has been designed to safely and cost-effectively automate a wide variety of swing gates, from single light domestic swing gates to heavy industrial double swing gates.
The fail-safe and fully redundant position and collision detection system has been designed and tested to set the standard in safety of operation and to provide an unparalleled level of reliability and durability in operation.
The gate travel limits are managed by a sealed double-redundant opt-electronic system that has been designed not only to ensure ultra-reliable operation, but also to ensure precise position and trajectory control. This enables very accurate and reliable collision detection to ensure safe operation even under trying conditions.
Some of the advanced features offered by the Vector controller are:
• Fully automated single button limit-setup for single and double swing gates
• Full graphics LCD display provides an intuitive user interface with built-in diagnostics to speed up and simplify the installation process
• Separate safety inputs for sensitive edges or beams on both the closing and opening directions of the gate
• Advanced closed-loop speed control to maintain safe and reliable operation on inclined gates under windy conditions
• Fully configurable gate run profiles
• Selectable and adjustable auto-close with push-button override
• Pedestrian (partial) opening with automatic closure
• Free exit input
• Positive close mode
• Multiple mode of operation
• Solenoid lock drive output up to 2A
• A status LED output to indicate the gate status remotely
• Pillar light control
• On board NOVA receiving with selective add and delete of remotes
BASIC MAINTENANCE ON GATE MOTORS:
- Keep the track clear of stones, dirt and obstructions
- Ensure that all rollers are free
- In manual mode check that the gate runs freely on its rail and does not catch or foul against the walls or pillars
- Ensure that the gate wheels and guide rollers are rotating freely and are not worn. In high volume applications it will be necessary to replace these components regularly
- Ensure that the rack is properly secured to the gate and that it does not press down onto the operator pinion at any point along its travel
- Keep shrubs and vegetation clear of the motor, rack or chain
- Check that the key still operates the manual override access door or flap. Spray with oil if necessary
- Keep the inside of the motor housing clear of insects and dust
- On operators fitted with a cooling fan, check that the air inlet ducts in the cover and outlet ducts in the gearbox are clear
- Check for corrosion of the battery terminals. Clean and apply grease as necessary
- Check the charging rate of the batteries from time to time and that the battery is charging
Swing gate motors:
- Grease the gate hinges to ensure that the gate swings freely
- Ensure that the manual release camlocks work correctly and lubricate if necessary. A graphite powder lubricant is sometimes better than oil or grease, as it does not attract dust.
- Ensure that the dust covers are closed to prevent the ingress of dust and insects
- If padlocks are fitted to the pins securing the motor to the gate- and wall brackets, then check that these padlocks can be opened. Lubricate padlocks as required, particularly during the rainy seasons.
- Carefully check the welding (nuts and bolts) securing the gate bracket to the gate, and the wall bracket to the wall or pillar. There are very large forces applied to all the brackets and metal fatigue can take place
